A day-long seminar on “Myanmar and ASEAN: Preparing for the next decade of growth”, organized by Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SSIS) and KPMG Advisory Ltd and assisted by UMFCCI, was held 24 June, 2014 at Sule Shangri-La Hotel. On the occasion UMFCCI Chairman U Win Aung and Chairman Associate Prof. Simon Tay gave welcome address and opening speech respectively. Subjects covered in the talks were: Myanmar’s transition and investment, banking, financial services, preparations to join ASEAN economic community, development projects and their investment, arbitration in construction disputes, energy, and Myanmar role in contributing to ASEAN’s energy sufficiency. The seminar was participated by senior officials, advisors and experts.
