TEDx Yangon 2017
TEDxYangon was held at the Rose Garden hotel with the theme of Tapestry on May 21, 2017 from 9 a.m. till the evening. In the event 17 participants talked on various topics. The International School Yangon presented a dramatic performance called ‘‘Playback Theatre Spontaneously Staging Your Stories’’. Ma Thiri Thet Mon the organizer of the event, acted as master of ceremony.
David Madden (Phan-deeyar), Emilie Röell (Doh Eain), Ewan Lamont (Myanma Awba),Htar Htar (Akhaya Women), Htet Myet Oo (RTH Group Ltd),James Erskine (Sheakspeare Schools), Jimmy Ko Ko,Lamin Oo (Tagu Films), Ma Thida (SanChaung), May Sabe Phyu (Gender Equality Network), Melinda Tun, Moe Thitsa (Foggy Spring), Phone Kyaw Moe Myint (Trash Hero Myanmar), Pyay Way (Nawaday Tharlar Art Gallery),Sonny Swe (Frontier Myan-mar Magazine) and Vicky Bowman (Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business) were participated as speakers. Participants talked about a wide range of subjects including gender discrimination, preservation of national heritage, agriculture, social welfare , education, law, natural environment, arts and aesthetics. The event with an audience of over 600 people was broadcast live on Facebook of TEDxYangon. (www.tedxyangon.org)
