Myanmar, Thailand discuss promotion of electricity supply

Thailand’s Energy Minister General Anantaporn Kanjanarat attended a bilateral meeting on electric power with

Union Minister U Khin Maung Soe at the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation in Yangon.

At the call, the union minister spoke of the Mongtong hydropower project to be jointly conducted by Myanmar.

The two ministers discussed the enhancement of electricity supply and the effective use of water resources for power projects.

Thailand’s permanent Secretary of Energy Dr Areepong Phucha-uu and Myanmar’s Permanent Secretary of Electric Power U Htein Lwin met to discuss about action plans for the implementation of policies agreed at the ministerial-level meeting at the same day.
