Myanmar to cooperate with Japan to produce finished lacquerwares

THE lacquerware college (Bagan) under the Small-Scale Industry Department will cooperate with Japan to teach its college students to be able to produce finished lacquerwares beginning form the 2017-2018 academic year, it has been learned from Daw Yee Yee Hlaing, director of the lacquerware college (Bagan).
“We have cooperated with Japan and arranged to produce finished lacquerwares since 2012. Japan provides technical assistance for teacher training courses but production of finished lacquerware cannot be undertaken yet. We have done testing but we hope we produce finished products by using Japanese technology beginning from 2017-18,” said the director.
