GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK MYANMAR ANNOUNCES 2014 THEME AND PARTNERStr
YANGON–Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) will be celebrated in three cities in Myanmar the week of Nov. 15 to 23. Events will take place in Yangon, and, for the first time, events are also being held in Mandalay and Taunggyi. This is the third year GEW, an international entrepreneurship event that takes places in 135 countries, will be organized in Myanmar.
This week-long event will celebrate entrepreneurs and start-ups who are reinvigorating business in Myanmar.
The theme for this year’s event is, “Let’s get started, Myanmar!” The week’s discussions and events are designed to inspire and better equip current and future entrepreneurs with knowledge and resources to start a business.
GEW partners include the following start-ups, NGOs, entrepreneurship associations and universities: Apex Management School (Mandalay), Opportunities Now; Building Markets; BLINK Agency; Project Hub Yangon; British Council; Standard Chartered; Myanmar Business Executives, Partnership for Change; Myanmar Youth Professional Club; Project Hub Yangon, USAID, GIZ; and Advancement and Development through Entrepreneurship Programs and Training (ADEPT).
The week-long event is being coordinated with the financial support of USAID and GIZ. All GEW activities are free and open to the public.
