“Fourth Myanmar food exhibition 2015”
The fourth Myanmar Food Exhibition organized by Myanmar Food Producers and Exporters Association was held 23-25 January, 2015 at Tatmadaw Convention Centre on U Wizara Road, Yangon. The event boasted a great variety of food, let alone present-day design styles in packaging.Some exhibitiors from private sector were interviewed by TODAY as follows;
U THU HEIN AUNG
Director, Yadana Tint Co Ltd
Our company always get to participate in food shows like this, major purpose is to introduce our food products. Here they include organic coffee, jams, ect. Lately Myanmar consumer market is improving, and inclined to be innovative. Like many others our company obeys FDA instructions. On the other hand imports are being regulated, especially for the quality of products. We lag behind in food technology so there is still some scope to cover to measure up to international level and win markets.
UVMIN HTET BO
Manager, City Biscuit
Ours is a local product, but carries new designs and in so doing has encouraged us to participate in this exhibition. Biscuits on show are a great variety, thanks to all including our company of late the market is more open, more competitive. Innovation is being accompanied by technological challenges and guarantees. To compete with improted food items means enhancement of product quality through improved technologies.
U HTIN AUNG KYAW
Manager (Marketing), Myanmar Myason Lndustries Co.,Ltd.
We’re a fourth-time participant in this exhibition, and an “Organic” member at that. On show here are our ‘Good Morning’ bread, cakes, and freshly produced wafers. This year will see the start of AEC, inviting competition on every front. Systematic performance is called for, be it the food, packaging, or distribution. Our latest products are being primed for penetration into foreign markets. That’s our aim.
MS TIN MAR KHAING WIN
Marketing Manager, FAME Pharmaceuticals
This is an exhibition on food products, but we’re only peripherally related to it, namely, preventive medicines, treatments, or food additives. Our exhibits are mostly organic. Our raw materials come from organic farms as well as private others. They’re required to pass muster of our labs, and good manufacturing practice. By way of penetrating foreign markets we’ve a sale counter in Singapore, in preparation for initiation of exports to U.S.
U YAN BO BO AUNG
Director, Ngwe Thazin Min Pure Groundnut Oil
We’re member to Myanmar Foods Producers Association. Thus we participate in every show arranged by it. Our foremost product: Ngwe Thazin Min Pure Groundnut Oil. For this edible oil we perfectly check the raw material, for sending pure groundnut oil to the market. Our efforts are sort of organizing, in that we’re to inform the consumer in face of cheaper imported edible oils on the market. Our local production and market of groundnut oil are already in place. In the event of functional AEC we’d better try to have a ease customer in place. This would insure a sustained local market for groundnut oil.
