Ongoing expanion of infrastructure in Myanmar as a developing country is much in evidence. Thus the construction of motor roads, railways, airports, dams and power plants means a need for construction materials and technologies of  a high order. A prominent one among those construction materials is the concrete block, whose production JJ Pun TIOSTONE will undertake vigorously. Following is the result  of an interview between TODAY editors and general manager U Soe Min Oo of the company.

The manufacturing plant opens
The factory opened on May 29, 2014 at No. 57 U  Shwe Bin Street, Industrial Zone 1 of Dagon Seikkan Township, Yangon.

How come its establishment
Of late the constructions Market in Myanmar has been booming, ensuring a steady production of construction materials of high quality. So this factory is set to produce dependable Con-crete Blocks for that market.

A Joint Venture
This factory is a Joint Venture between Singa-pore-based JJ-Pun Co Ltd and Hong Kong- based TIOSTONE Co Ltd, to become known as JJ-Pun TIOSTONE Co Ltd in Myanmar.
JJ Pun is three years old in Myanmar, and possessed of considerable renown. JJ-Pun is into distribution of cable, lighting, and techno-logical servicing. TIOSTONE Co Ltd is a No 1 Concrete Block Maker in Hong Kong.

A Variety of Blocks
The Blocks in the pipeline are Hollow Blocks for buildings, Paving Blocks for roads.Then there is the River Bank Stone, to help prevent the riverbank erosion which is a common problem in Myanmar. The block variety is5-6 in number.

Technology and Machinery
In production of Concrete Blocks we go for Hong Kong technology, while the machinery has been purchased from Germany.

Prices
Our prices are very competitive — our ordinary block might be an equivalent of 4-5 clay blocks. The difference in price is not great, but ours is High Quality Product.

Range of Distribution
We target nationwide for distribution of our products. And more factories will be set up, so as to cover the whole Myanmar.

Customer Service
Customer Service is CSR in our parlance. Quality is emphasised for each and every product of ours, as required by Customer. Our service is quality, so to speak. The CSR is manifold: No (1) Responsibility goes for product quality; No.(2) Responsibility goes for the natural environment. Concrete Blocks are produced and used to benefit the environment. To produce Clay Blocks needs firewood — leading to deforestation. Our concrete blocks help prevent environmental deterioration in a big way.
