Your staff strength at the beginning and now…
Initially there were about 10 Bike Messengers (Delivery Man) on my hands-on operation. Now there are 35 of them, in addition to 12 office staffs. In full uniform including headgear, they are taught to obey traffic rules and their work is insured. They can be tracked anytime thanks to GPS technology.
How much time does a Delivery require?
Delivery time depends on the distance between customer and the restaurant. The schedule, duly reckoned and tested, is shown at our website. Customer already knows how long the Delivery will take and how much it will cost.
From what platform do most orders come?
App and Website currently. Android, iOS, Facebook App are optional. Most orders come via Website. Hopefully Facebook will replace it.
When are orders serviced earliest and latest in the day?
Orders in advance, for anytime, are accepted. Latest order may come in by 8:45 pm, to be serviced in the same night.
How many kilos can a Messenger handle?
He can handle up to 8 kilos, but the food they are carrying around is 3-4 kilos only as a precaution.
Any Catering Service?
We are open to it. We offer catering service even if an individual customer demands it.
Any conditions of yours to accept new restaurant?
Regular conditions only like the food be good, prepared in time, and accountable to Customer. Consumers dictate which restaurant is good or not. We relate consumer feedback.
Your website service fees to a member shop…
Listing is free of charge. We charge fees on the cost of the order. Some restaurants ask for delivery charges and some don’t. We usually coordinate matters where in both the restaurant and ourselves receive a little less so that demand grows. It is sort of Promotion. Delivery charge is mostly around 15 percent of the order.
How many orders are you handling in a day?
We are handling about 120 orders in a day. Customers local and foreign are about half by half. Local restaurants like YKKO and Thai 47 are now in our Listing. They may get you local taste. Messengers will be increased, but there is no Substation yet. Operational inside of Yangon City, our business has plans to expand in Mandalay and Naypyitaw.
Administration of staff…
We are not into Social Business, we are working for profit. But we see to staff welfare. We give them jobs with a good salary, training in English language, computer use. Besides salary, every order being serviced cariers a commission for them.
Challenges and rivals…
Hiring people and maintaining them is a challenge. Rivals are out of our mind at present because we are competing with ourselves to service orders faster from more restaurants. Smart people are essential in business, and I am trying to recruit such people.
What about investment of BOD Tech in your business…
BOD Tech CEO is an acquaintance of mine. It is an IT company going for E-commerce. He claims to have vision for online business. Naturally we allowed the company to join us. It has a 50:50 stake in our business.
Will other commodities besides food be transported?
The matter is under consideration, like we buy something as ordered by customer and fetch it to him. We likely will have another website. We already have necessary infrastructure in place. Our Messengers are very efficient; diversification of commodities is easy.
The new service could take place towards the year-end when our business is going to be extended to Mandalay and Naypyitaw.
