Myanmar Shwe Ying selected for Yangon traffic control system project
The Myanmar Shwe Ying Company has been selected to implement a project that includes the establishment of a control center and the regarding Yangon’s cameras, said Saw Tun Mya Aung, Kayin ethnic affairs minister of Yangon Region government.
According to tender evaluation committee, the company will implement the project of fitting traffic lights with CCTV cameras and building a control tower in cooperation with China Railway Construction Company (CRCC).
The committee said that the tender winning company pledged to replace damaged street traffic items with new ones within three years and provide free service for five years.
The project is scheduled to be fully completed within six months and a late fine of K100, 000 for each day is also set, added the committee.
According to the project, 154 of 192 traffic lights in Yangon will be fitted with CCTV cameras which are linked to the Center set to be built in an area of People’s square in Yangon which is aimed at monitoring congested sports and the violation of traffic rules.
