Myanmar Development Summit is held
Thanks to collaboration among UMFCCI, MICPA and ACCA the Myanmar Development Summit was held on 10 August, 2014 at PARKROYAL Hotel, Yangon. The objective was to highlight the need for international-level standardization of Myanmar economic laws and regulations and for a better infrastructure, what with foreign investors eyeing Myanmar markets with great expectation. The subjects under discussion included the role of finance and accountancy in emerging economies and creation of sustainable economic development and financial systems.
The summit was attended by Union Auditor General U Thein Htike; MICPA chairman U Kyaw Tin; UMFCCI Chairman U Win Aung, ACCA CEO Ms Helen Brand OBE; Mr Reza Ali (Head of Emerging Markets – ASIA, ACCA); board member U Maw Than of Myanmar Central Bank; and U Kyaw Lwin Oo (Head of ACCA Myanmar; among others.
The summit signified the opening of ACCA Myanmar, 91st member of ACCA which had signed MOUs with MICPA and UMFCCI in early 2014.
