Aiming to revive the nearly extinct bamboo-framed lantern, Myanmar International Television (MITV) organized and held Paper Lantern Festival 2014 on 5-6 November, 2014 at Shwe Htut Tin Estate, East Race Course Road, Tarmwe Township. This event falling in Tazaungdaing Festival of Lights saw juniors’ competition in Lantern painting, games and creation of Lanterns of one’s own design. Seven teams competing in traditional – lantern design saw U Myo Aung Htoo place first, U Myo Swe second, and U Zar Min Htike Third.
