TODAY conducted an interview with an active and lively business woman, Daw Aye Aye Swe of Cold Fresh Business Group when she was exercising at 9 Mile Golf Club. The information is as follows:

Educational Background

I graduated with BSc (Math’s) and Home Economic Diploma at our regional college at the same time. And I also achieved EMBA Degree from Yangon University of Economics.

Working experiences

When I was 38, I worked as Admin Manager at a foreign company was fresher towels and skincare Product Company. After I worked there for about 5 years, almost all the foreign companies (in Myanmar) closed down. After that I run my own (fresher towel producing) business, to be exact on September 2005.

The way you start running your own business and the steps for upgrading it

Before I started my own business, I sent an e-mail to my former boss saying that I wanted to restart the towel business as I have been devoting my life to that industry. My former boss accepts my request and they sent me the chemical formula via email.

I studied Win Thuzar’s technologies at the same time. I studied the techniques from an expert chemist from Myanmar Chemical Industry. I combined both of the techniques and tested it by myself. I’ve learnt that some fresher towels have the scented alcohol, so I produced the towels with the non-scent alcohol. Although we produced it, we had to give a certain amount of time and tested as the effect of the chemical will appear in the next three or four months. We started distributing it when the towels are suitable for every skin. As I had not chosen the brand name when the towels were invented, I started producing the towels with the own logos of my clients such as Myat Mandalar Htun Express and Shwe Mandalar Express. Most of the express lines order the towels with their own logos. Then I got some more customers from the travel and tours, hotels, restaurants, beauty salons. The most ordering customers are from KTVs and massage.

I started producing my own brand “cold” while I was importing the towels for my clients. Sooner or later, I produced yarn towel in a pure plastic bag. Then I named it as “Fresh A”. I divided the towels with cloth Cold, and the towels with yarn as Fresh A.

The next one is the tissue that cannot be torn. I found the raw material from Shwe Li, and produced the tissue with its name “ICE”. Most of the famous travel and tours order the tissues with their own logos from me. Currently only Asian Wings is my customer. In the near future, I will buy a fully auto machine for producing tissues in order to extand the corporation with some more airlines.

Some more business areas

Cold Fresh Business Group produces only the towels and it has been operating for 11 years. Last 3 years or so, Gold Great Galaxy Co Ltd was eshtablished. I worked under Gold Great Galaxy Co Ltd after I got some charcoal areas to deal with at Magway Division. When I went to Magway, there were some construction tenders and I immediately got it that year. For the construction sector, I’m interested in doing some welfare work concerning education and health.

Any other organizations that you are involved in

Currently, I’m working for the educational committee of Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs Association (MWEA); a committee at Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation in upgrading lifestyles; a secretary at Myanmar Women’s Sports Federation.  For welfare work, I’m cooperating with Padamyar Foundation and Stevenage North Group (SNG).
