Hilton Worldwide on 11-06-2014 announed its signing of management agreements with Eden Group of Myanmar for five Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Myanmar. Two of Eden Group’s recently opened properties in Nay Pyi Taw and Ngapali Beach, Rakhine State will be rebranded as Hilton Nay Pyi Taw and Hilton Ngapali Beach Resort respectively, both being expected to open for service this October. Three other Hilton Hotels each in Bagan, Inle Lake and Mandalay should follow in the next three years. The 200-room Hilton Nay Pyi Taw, with meetings and events spaces, will open in time for the ASEAN Summit and ASEAN Plus Summit 2014 in November. Founded in 1990, Eden Group is one of Myanmar’s Largest private companies. According to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Myanmar has as of December 2013, 923 licensed hotels and approximately 34,834 rooms throughout the counrty.
